A Mad Tea Party.

I found that there seems to be more differences in the two than there are similarities. To start off with, I think that Johnny Depp portrayed the character of the Mad Hatter Perfectly. He was crazy and random and pretty much all over the place just like in the book. The thing that really bothered my though is that the only time in the movie that the Dormouse is sleeping is right away when Alice first appears. However, in the book the Dormouse is constantly trying to sleep and they need to wake him up. As for the March Hare, I feel as if the movie and the book are very similar with this character. Burton’s movie also added a character to the mix, the Cheshire-Cat. I’m not really sure if I feel like the cat adds to the story of not. As for Alice, she is a very active member of this scene in the book. Yet, in the movie she hardly says anything. They do not tell her stories or participate in singing. I think most importantly though, when Alice leaves they don’t even seem to notice, while in the movie the Mad Hatter is very excited that Alice is there.

Meeting Alice

Dude, I was sitting atop my mushroom, smoking my hookah, and minding my own business when this creature poked her head up over the side of the mushroom. I was enjoying a good smoke dude, and was a little annoyed that she was interrupting my smoke. She is so stupid; she doesn’t even know who she is. How could you not know who you are, jeeze. Then, she has the nerve to walk away from me, I don’t think so. This is a mellow mushroom dude; she needs to keep her temper. Maybe she will be able to figure out this poem, but I doubt it, she’s not that bright or confident. Dude, this is a total waste of my time, I will tell her to eat the mushroom to get to the size she wants, but which side she will have to figure out for herself.

Lewis Carroll

Lewis Carroll, whos real name is Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, excelled in mathmatics as well as being proficient in literature. In 1854 Dodgson obtained a first class honors degree in mathmatics and became a tutor. He later became Master of the House, which lead to him to becoming lecturer in mathematics for the next 25 years. It wasn't until after his career in mathmatics that Dodgson started to write, and later came up with the story of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Favorite Book

My favorite book is the Host by Stephenie Meyer. I encountered this book my senior year when one of my friends recommended it to me. I really like this book because it shows that people can change and be good. I feel like alot of people can relate to the book and even learn from it.
